We're Definitely Cutting Back On The Sugar Intake...

Above quote from Fringe 1.09 'The No-Brainer' and is very appropriate.

I'm currently working on two new sites, building both of them from the ground up. The first one is pretty much done - just a bunch of gallery updates to be done on it. The other I have some stuff ready for the gallery but need to get to work on the pages for the main site.

They're actually the reason why I haven't gotten this site up to date like I wanted to this past week but I'm definitely going to get to work on this one once those two are up and open for visitors.

We'll Keep Coming Back Because...

Wow, I cannot believe it's been over a year since my last blog post here! So much has happened and yet it doesn't seem like that much.

First off, back in December I had to give up my Harry Potter site, it was just getting too much for me between how much work it was maintaining that and The Medusa Cascade - which just recently celebrated its 2 year anniversary! And in other site news, I just recently updated a new site, Clémence Poésy Online!

I've also gotten into quite a few new fandoms including (in alphabetical order) Fringe, Leverage and Supernatural. And I'm sure there are many more to come thanks to my friends :)

Thankfully I've still been writing, though for awhile there I had a bit of a dry spell. But I'm back now with a couple of new novel ideas and am also periodically working on writing scripts for tv series of my own making that started out as a LiveJournal community challenge. I still have to update my writing section with all of that.

Like I said, there has been other stuff, but I've updated my LJ plenty about all of that - somehow I've managed to keep that blog updated - so I'm not going to go into all of that here. Hopefully though I'll work on keeping this blog updated a bit more and in the next couple of days I'm going to be working on making sure all of my pages are up to date.

May You Be... Forever 21

My birthday was on Friday, May 29th. I'm now 21 years old! I had a great birthday which I spent with my best friend.

A lot has happened since my last update, and at the same time, not so much.

I have finally updated my site collective to show the change with Harry Potter Fans Images. In other site related news, I am currently working on building up a new fansite which I hope to open up within the next couple of weeks if everything continues to go according to plan.

The Medusa Cascade has had reason to celebrate recently, and not just because of all the exciting news in the Doctor Who universe. On April 27, its gallery reached over 200,000 images!

So here's to the future, with all that's to come!

Girls' Night? Try Girls' Week!

It's going to be an interesting week in my house this week. My dad's away visiting my brother in Arizona and me and my mom are home alone. While the man is away, the women will play... Well, maybe we'll just watch a few chick flicks that my dad would scoff at the suggestion of.

Meanwhile, I've had a few updates with my novels. I'm currently rewriting Heart Beats All, the very first novel I really buckled down and finished despite years of working on it and taking breaks that made me feel like it was never going to be finished.

I also have a new novel idea in addition to the one I posted about in my last update. This one is going to be coming along much slower because of my rewrite and the other one I'm still going to be jotting down notes for but I doubt any real writing will actually happen.

My listing of short stories is incredibly out of date but I hope to fix that within the coming days or weeks depending on other things I need to do.

As far as my sites go, the gallery of Harry Potter Fans is no longer hosted by Fan-Sites.org but the main site is. The gallery has a new domain and a new host and can be found at Harry Potter Fans Images. I haven't decided if that is going to be it's official title or not though. I also have yet to update my site collective to show this change but it will get done.

I think that's all for now and I hope my next update will be a lot sooner than this one was!

NaNoWriMo and the first half of December
Posted On 19 Dec 2008

There's been a lot happening the past two months.

First of all, I WON NANOWRIMO! This is the third time I've won and yet each year it's just as stressful as the year before if not more so. My best friend Lauren participated in NaNoWriMo too, only this was her first time, and she won as well!

I've also finished writing my third novel, Second Chances. It is not only the longest novel I've written at over 75,000 words but it is also the only one so far that doesn't have a sequel or spinoff in the works because I really want this to just be a single story and not grow into a huge thing that makes my head spin at times.

This also means I'm working on a new novel. Yes, I have a lot of ideas backlogged and so I'm working on a few at once but this idea came to me just days before the end of NaNoWriMo and it's a story that I really feel like telling because it is so important to me. I didn't get to start it until the other day though because I wanted to wait until Second Chances was completely finished to start. So far I have no title and only partial names for most of the main characters.

I also have some site updates to talk about. First of all, The Medusa Cascade is no longer being hosted by Fan-Sites.org. I have it set up at a paid hosting place and there were a few problems with the site after the move (which occurred at the same time NaNoWriMo was going on) but it looks like it's all sorted out. Secondly, I'm no longer working on One Tree Hill Central. I haven't watched at all this season and so I haven't been able to contribute much to the site these past few months.

Regarding this site, I'm no longer hosting my screencaps here. That section of the site however is staying up for my DVD list and to give me the option to bring it back at a later date.

And I think that's about it for now. As you can tell I've been keeping myself busy and I'm loving every minute of it!

California, Salem and NaNoWriMo

Wow, it has been a while since I updated this site.

I came back from California the beginning of October and my cousin spent a week here with us. It was so much stuff to take in and I can't believe it's all ready been over a month since I left California, I miss being there so much.

Last week for Halloween my friend Lauren and I went to Salem, Massachusetts and had an amazing time! We spent two days up there and spent some time in Plymouth, visiting the land of the Pilgrims. Our trip ended way too soon for either of us though :(

And as it is November, I am currently participating in NaNoWriMo for the third year in a row. I'm currently behind by a few thousand words but I'm still very confident that I will cross that 50,000 word finish line.

California, Here I Come!

*starts singing the theme song to The OC*

On Sunday I am going to California to stay with my aunt and uncle for an entire month! I'm really excited to be going and I honestly cannot wait! For the first time I will not only be away from my parents for longer than a weekend but I will also be somewhere that isn't on the East Coast!

Of course this means for five weeks all of my sites will go mostly unedited but when I return I have a feeling I shall return with a vengeance!

Until then....

(Un)Successful JulNoWriMo, New Site, and Yet Another New Story
Posted On 03 Aug 2008
By Christine
Well, JulNoWriMo was mostly a success for me. Although I didn't reach 50,000 words (I only came up to about 20,000), I never would have written that much of Hearts Left Unbroken in that amount of time without the challenge. Plus throw in going to see a bunch of movies with your friends and well, that challenge basically gets thrown out the window. Which was fine by me, I need to be more social.

Not to mention the news that I now have a new site that is dedicated to the fantastic tv show Doctor Who and its spinoffs, The Medusa Cascade. It's open but not complete though I am working very hard on it to get it finished within the next week or so.

I also gave up Masi Oka Fan. I'm still a fan of his (he was amazing in Get Smart's Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control!) but not so much that I can keep that site updated as much as I would like to. I just hope that someone adopts it and gives it the tender loving care it deserves.

And in some more writing news, I got another new story idea via a dream. Which is surprising because I usually don't remember my dreams. I'm in love with the idea and the characters so far, now to find out where the story takes me.

JulNoWriMo, a summer writing frenzy
Posted On 06 Jul 2008
By Christine
A couple of days before July 1st I decided to participate in JulNoWriMo after my friend Lauren linked me to the site.

After toying with the idea of a new story (which I am still planning) I decided to work on Hearts Left Unbroken for the month. Mostly the decision came after I got a burst of inspiration and wrote a bunch of pages but then I remembered that I have technically been working on this story since March 2007 so that really made the decision for me.

I'm currently at over 9,500 but I have stuff that I've hand written but haven't typed so it's definitely more than that.

I'm really glad I decided to join the challenge, I hate waiting until November to do something like this!

Screencap Section is now OPEN!
Posted On 21 May 2008
By Christine
After uploading caps and capping a few movies, the capture section of Hungarian Horntail is now online! There are 21 movies including Enchanted, Mad Money, The Breakfast Club and the first season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer as well as the first season of The Office (US).

Since I've been capping about three years, I've used various methods and chosen various dimensions which you will notice as you look through the caps. Every so often I will be switching the caps that are displayed in the gallery but I will let you know when those times are.

All I ask is that if you use my captures for anything please credit http://hungarian-horntail.com so that others know where to find them. Do not claim them as your own and do not hotlink them.

You can find my screencaps here.

I hope you enjoy them!
